When you transact any business with us, you provide us with private financial and personal information, and we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of that information. Our commitment is described in this Notice of Your Financial Privacy Rights. DEFINITIONS We will first define some terms that will appear throughout this disclosure. 1. We, our and us mean CSB Bancorp, Inc. and The Commercial and Savings Bank. 2. Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or a service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is readily available to the general public. 3. An affiliate is a company we own or control. 4. A non-affiliated third party is a company that is not an affiliate of ours. INFORMATION COLLECTION We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources: 1. Information we receive from you on applications or other forms; 2. Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; and 3. Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency. We maintain and collect this information for several reasons. The more we know about you, the better we can understand your unique financial needs, and therefore, can provide you with the products and services that can be allocated to your needs. We also collect and analyze customer information as the first step in developing new products. By doing this we may be able to spot trends or changes in the way you manage your finances. For example, if we see, through the course of opening an account, the possibility that you might benefit from any of our services from our Mortgage Department or our Trust Department, we may recommend that service to you. There are several laws that require us to obtain information from you, such as obtaining a tax identification number for many of your accounts. Also by use of some of the data we collect, we are able to protect the security and privacy of your account at The Commercial and Savings Bank. Some of the information that we collect will positively identify you and your products and services, thereby preventing access by unauthorized individuals.
