Fireworks Will Sparkle on Monday, July 4 at West Holmes

Thanks to the efforts of Holmes Fire District #1 and a corporate donation from The Commercial & Savings Bank, fireworks will once again sparkle in the sky at West Holmes High School on Monday, July 4th.

“Holmes Fire District #1 takes on an extensive responsibility in providing and coordinating the 4th of July fireworks for our community. When we heard about their budget shortfall, we knew we wanted to help. The commemoration of our independence is extremely important to citizens of the United States as many have fought for our freedom in the past, and continue to fight for these freedoms today. After talking to Holmes Fire District #1 Chief Jim Weigand, we decided to help them by becoming a cosponsor of this event with the Fire District,” stated CSB President & CEO John Limbert.

While the fireworks will begin at dark, other events will be held earlier in the evening:
·The Millersburg Lioness Club will hold a chicken barbeque, rain or shine, beginning at 5:00 and serving until the chicken is gone.
·West Holmes Athletic Boosters will have the concession stand full of good food for all to enjoy.
·Pomerene Hospital has sponsored the following entertainment:
- Kelly Meckley – a solo artist who plays modern soft rock and a variety of songs for the family to enjoy.
- Up River – a four piece band playing a mix of blue grass, old time, folk and Celtic music.

District #1 Fire Chief Jim Weigand commented, “On behalf of the Fire District members, we would like to thank The Commercial & Savings Bank for their generous sponsorship as well as all other contributors who have helped ensure the continued success of this tradition.”
